On the plus side, this is the complete, unabridged text of Baum's first "Oz" book; followed by 13 more written by Baum. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Becky -- Absolutely Beautiful Edition : There are lots of different editions of this classic story to choose from, but I wanted one that would look beautiful on the shelf, and I'm so glad I picked this one. There is gold foiling on the front & back covers as well as the spine, it has a sewn binding, and I love the colourful, quirky illustrations. The paper is thick and good-quality, and each chapter has different art work surrounding the page numbers, which is a little touch I really enjoyed. The interactive elements seemed gimmicky to me (and there's not much "interaction" to be had, most of them involve something popping up or folding out and there's no further reader participation involved) but given that I'm an adult, I'm not the target demographic for pop-ups, and I didn't buy this book for them, so I'm happy to just ignore them. I would suggest buying this edition for the quality and beauty of the overall presentation, not for it's interactivity. ( Reviewed in Canada on October 12, 2021 )
